After the finish coat was dry, I did a small amount of wet sanding and then dry fitted all the parts that I had completed. Right after fitting them I realized that the domes looked dull and out of place. I reviewed the Xerox copies that Uncle Jeff sent and noticed some differences in the values on the domes center betweent the images in 1893 and the ones for 1923. To me it looked the center of both domes had been polished. So I decided to add some brass to the centers of the dome. I don't know for certain that the domes were polished in this fashion. I do know that it wasn't an uncommon feature so I am taking a chance.
This is where I am at so far. My next step is to build a dynamo and redo the backhead. Uncle Jeff is sending me an electric light. If that arrives before the next step, I will go ahead and attach the light and then reattach the boiler to the chasis.
