Welcome to Scalehumans.com. If you found yourself mysteriously redirected to this page while attempting to access kahunanui.com or kahuna3d.com don.t worry, I.m the original owner of those sites, I.ve just decided to turn the focus away from virtual reality and on to something that you can hold in your hand. This site features miniatures sculpted by me Richard Kapuaala. I sculpt the subjects that matter to most to me and primarily in 1:20.32 scale. I enjoy the challenge of working that small and strives (though I will admit sometimes fails) to create the most historical accurate likeness of the subject I am sculpting.

I am also an avid g scale model builder and my work is reproduced and offered here on this site as kits and sometimes custom built items. Again, historical accuracy is my primary goal. As anyone who has built scale models knows (especially with Railroads) it is an impossible tasks to pin point exactly what a piece of equipment or a building will look like from one year to the next, let alone one minute to the next.

While the focus of my work is generally on Hawaiian history and Hawaiian Railroad history specifically, I also like to sculpt from experience and will pick another road or region to work on if it interests me.
